I’m here today to talk about my latest favorite makeup investment: the Becca and Jaclyn Hill Face Palette. It is a collection of three blushes, 2 mineral blushes and 1 luminous blush, and 2 highlighters. The three blushes are all exclusive to the palette as well as the newest highlight to the collection. The other highlight is a permanent part of the Becca line, Champagne Pop, which was created last summer by Jaclyn Hill in collaboration with Becca.
I am a huge fan of Jaclyn Hill’s so I was so excited to hear that she had teamed up with Becca once again. She had a hand in the creation of each shade in the face palette and I love the colors she came up with!
The blushes from left to right are Rose Spritz, Amaretto, and Pamplemousse. The highlights from left to right are Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop. All of the
I reach for this palette every day! I am so in love with it! The powders are so creamy and soft and this is a great palette to travel with. I don’t have to take any other blushes with me, as Amaretto is my perfect everyday blush color while Rose Spritz and Pamplemousse are great when I want to be a little more glam.
Rose Spritz and Pamplemousse are highly pigmented so all you need to do is just barely tap your brush in them and then tap off the excess. It’s very easy to go crazy clown pink with these if you dig your brush in there. I love Rose Spritz for summer when I am going for a glowing look, and it is also beautiful as a blush topper to Pamplemousse. I know Pamplemousse looks scary, but if you have a light hand, it is just gorgeous!
I also always grab it because the mirror in this palette is a beast and I love it. It is large and in charge and I’m so glad because palette mirrors are usually tiny and do absolutely nothing for me.
The highlights, or Shimmering Skin Perfectors as Becca has called them, are fabulous. The first highlight I ever purchased was Becca’s Opal based on Jaclyn’s recommendation in one of her videos. I fell in love and haven’t purchased any other brand of highlights. I’m the kind of person that once I find something I love I feel like I’m wasting my money trying to find something I like as much as that product. Champagne Pop is a gorgeous champagne color with very slight pinky undertones. Prosecco Pop is a true gold highlight without being a straight yellow line across your face.
Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop are beautiful blended together as well. From left to right: Champagne Pop, Prosecco Pop, the two blended together. They create this beautiful golden champagne color. It really softens the gold and almost cancels the pinky tones in Champagne Pop. You would just have to try it because I am so terrible at describing colors! Sorry!
These are highlights that are going to be beaming to the heavens on your cheekbones, so if you are more of a fan of that lit from within subtle glow, I don’t think you would like these as much. I have been able to get a very light shimmer with natural hair brushes or duo fiber brushes which diffuse the highlight well and give a lighter coverage. Just a fair warning though!
This palette is only a part of the Champagne Collection, including Champagne Pop in pressed, poured creme, and liquid. Previously Champagne Pop was only available in the pressed form. There was an eye shadow palette, but due to a new manufacturing warehouse that Becca selected to get everything ready by the release date, the quality appeared to be sub par according to a lot of reviews. Some of the palettes were great and had the same Becca formula, but others were apparently patchy and dry, and not up to snuff. Jaclyn went on her Snapchat to explain why the eye shadow palette would no longer be part of the collection, and apologized for the inconvenience. The other pieces in the collection were made in Becca’s usual lab, so their formulas are all fantastic!
If you already have colors like this, I might pass on it. I am a huge fan of Jaclyn Hill so I wanted to buy it to support her, but I also don’t have any blushes that look like the ones that come in this palette. The packaging is hands down the prettiest I have ever seen. It’s bright and beautiful and I just love looking at it.
The Champagne Collection face palette is limited edition and can be purchased at Sephora, online and in stores, including JC Penny Sephoras. It is $52.00, which is definitely pricey, but you do get a lot of product. The highlights and blushes are not as big as the full size, but unless you do full face highlights every day, these will last quite a long time! If you want this, I recommend grabbing it while you can as it will sell out very quickly. I was luckily able to nab it the night Becca had a party in honor of Jaclyn Hill and the collection in New York. They released a limited amount on Sephora that night and it sold out within 90 minutes.
Have a wonderful Friday!
