What beast, you ask? My hair, that’s what! I have naturally curly hair and if you have natural curl you know that it has a mind of its own! Well, I finally found something that showed me how to tame my crazy hair. You can find the tutorial here, and it is genius. Pure genius! I knew a couple of the tips like you never ever brush it if you are styling it curly and not to touch it too much, but she gave some very detailed steps on how to style it that I hadn’t heard of before. I’ve always loved my curls, but I didn’t have the faintest idea on how to make it curl from my tips to my roots. The biggest problem was that it would curl at the bottom and be flat and lifeless at the top which gave me a very unattractive hairstyle! If you picture my hair sticking to my head and then poofing out all crazy at the bottom, then you know how bad it was!
She details some of the products she uses, but I didn’t want to have to go out and buy anything so these are the ones I had on hand:
Before I did the blow-drying step I put the Dove curling mousse in my hair. I don’t have a diffuser so I just blow-dried on low with high heat. After I had blow-dried it most of the way I put about a nickel size amount of the S Factor smoothing lusterizer defrizzer and tamer in. Then I sprayed some of the Regis curl mist scrunching spray all over and lightly scrunched it.
Sorry, they’re slightly blurry. I had heck trying to get these shots and I just got tired of trying to keep taking more shots. Hopefully it will get curlier if I leave it alone, because I usually always straight iron it or use a curling iron. Hope all you curly headed women find this useful! It certainly helped me out!
