New Year’s Eve Dinner

Well, the husband and I aren’t the party-hardy types, so we are ringing in the new year at home with our baby girl, an awesome home-cooked meal, and a brand new bottle of wine. I thawed out some ground turkey without really knowing what I wanted to cook. My husband suggested meatballs and since I have never had meatballs before (I know, I’m a little embarrassed) I decided to give it a go!

The three of us enjoyed a little It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia during dinner and we put the little one to bed not long after. Then we got our nerd on and played Magic the Gathering and had a blast! All in all, a good family night. I hope everyone’s New Year’s was as safe and fun as ours.

This was some good vino! It’s a Gnarly Head “Old Vine Zin” that I chanced upon at Wal-Mart of all places. It’s a bit stout at 14.5% alc. content, but it is dang good. It is definitely not for the faint of heart. This is a big red, so if you like sweet reds you may want to steer clear.

And our extremely delicious dinner (if I do say so myself!)

Heh, maybe it doesn’t look like she was having fun, but she was up until this point! Then it was off to bed.

A little bit of MTG to cap off a really great night! For those of you who might be faintly curious, this game is comparable to the Pokemon card game. It’s basically a grown up version. My husband got me into it when we were still dating. I had made fun of him for months, but he sucked me in and I love it. It’s something we really enjoy doing together and that’s just so important in a marriage. Have a good night everyone!
