Five Blessings Friday!

Okay, I want to try and start this weekly series about naming five blessings in my life. I’m hoping it will spark your brains and get you thinking about the ways God has blessed you this week, and mainly I hope to challenge myself! I don’t think we stop enough and just contemplate the many ways God blesses us daily. And I’m sure there are many blessings we may not even be aware of, but I’m hoping that by searching for those things He does for us that we can become more aware of His hand in our lives.

#1 My health! I never think about what a blessing it is to be healthy until I’m disgustingly sick. I had a horrible stomach bug this week and man was it a doozy. This is the first time I’ve been sick with Miss Izzy, and being a mom doesn’t stop when you’re sick! (I know, duh, this is pretty obvious to you veteran mommas, but it was exhausting!)

#2 My amazing daughter! She is truly a wonderful baby, and I’m so thankful that God chose Tyler and I to be her parents. She was so sweet to me while I lay curled up on the couch dying and she even took a 3 hour nap for me! She never fussed much and played on the floor with her toys pretty quietly. How’s that for baby of the year?!

#3 Tyler’s new job. He’s taken a complete 180 and bounced back from the depressing hold of his last job. I have my amazing, fun husband back who is quick to laugh and full of energy. Thank you God for providing this opportunity for him and for bringing the man I married back to me.

#4 Our apartment. We literally had a few days from the time Tyler found out he got this job to find a new place to live. This was the only place that had any sort of availability and it’s perfect.

#5 Our financial well-being. God really lended us a hand when we were having some financial hardships. We went from a double income family with no kids in our very own house to a one income family with a baby and a house very quickly, which wasn’t something we had planned on or could afford. Every month things got a little worse, and we often didn’t know where the money would come from, but come it did! God is faithful and He will provide. He then helped us sell our home within two months, so now we don’t have rent and a mortgage to pay. Hallelujah!

So, quick everyone! Name five blessings in your life right now.
