Smothered Pork Chops

This recipe is an invention of my moms. It is (like most of the recipes I really love) quick, easy and most importantly, cheap!

Smothered Pork Chops

  • 2-3 lg potatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 6 pork chops, bone in, rubbed with Montreal Steak seasoning
  • 1-2 cans cream of mushroom, enough to cover all the pork chops
  • water

Preheat oven to 350 F. Coat the pork chops in a layer of flour and lightly brown. Set aside. Grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish, layer with the sliced potatoes, then onions, then pork chops. Spread cream of mushroom over pork chops. Add water to cover. Bake for 1 hour or at 250 F for 3-4 hours. They will be falling off the bone by the time you get done!
