Beer Bread

This is an idiot proof bread recipe that you can make sweet or savory. Seriously, all you have to do is throw all the ingredients in a bowl and stir ’em up. Use regular oatmeal for savory bread, or you can use those quakers oat’s flavored oatmeal packets to make it sweet, which is what I usually do so we can have it for breakfast.

Beer Bread

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oats or packet of instant oatmeal
  • 1 bottle of beer of your choice
  • chopped almonds or pecans (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 F. Stir all the ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl until just mixed. Pour into greased loaf pan and press almonds or pecans into top of batter (or you can stir them in). And that’s all it takes folks! Throw it in a bowl, give it a little stir and you’re ready to go! Bake for 50 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Enjoy!
